My Thoughts
When I saw the cover of this book I was already enamored. Is that right? Can I say that? I mean it just works. Simple yet intriguing. Seeing the couple together listening to music on headphones took me back to my school days. This book is set in the late 1980's in Omaha Nebraska. It tells of a budding love between two teens. When they first meet it's not love at fist sight or anything. It builds up in time. Which I like. I also like that that the music that is in the book sets the mood. I remember this music and I remember the mood. Echo and the Bunnymen any one? I have to tell you Ms. Rowell does an excellent job getting the teenage theme across. She is one who hasn't forgotten. And writing a story with a range of back grounds and races was refreshing.
